LOCAL SCENE PRESENTS: ...Of Bitter Flowers!

Everyone, Local Scene is PROUD to present to you:
...Of Bitter Flowers!

Four score and seven years ago, our fathers brought forth on this continent a new nation- wait! I don't need the Gettysburg address! I just need the Glendale Galleria address!

This story starts off in the pits of the Glendale Galleria. Hot Topic to be exact. My boss at the time was like a big brother to me. Always picked on me, always joked around, and always had advice.

I later found out he has a band, called ...Of Bitter Flowers. Naturally, being his "little sister", I got to see the lyrics as they were being written, they were so beautifully haunting... I desperately wanted to hear them with music.

The music, at best, can be described as gothic and industrial. Lots of blood, hate, betrayal, and black. Haunting and chilling, each song is a story of front man Jules's life. Personal and forward, each song had it's own story, yet they all blended together perfectly. One could say that the band's album, "The Midnight Society," is taken straight from Jules's journal.

...Of Bitter Flowers is composed of:
  • Jules DeRegge- Vocals, keys, programming
  • Justin Madrigal- Guitar, keys, arragement
  • Fadius- Bass

For more info on the band, please check the following links:

"I'll be Wearing Black."

I'm very proud of the music Jules and the rest of the band has made.

Local Scene, The Perfect Victim, Bon Jovi Battle, March 3, 2011

LOCAL SCENE PRESENTS:

THE PERFECT VICTIM!!

We are very proud to present this band. I met the bassist at a video shoot for a friend's band. He heard me talking about my site and inquired. After the shoot, he added me on facebook and sent me a link to his music. I enjoyed it VERY much!!! Their show following the shoot was a little too far for me to attend, so I attended their next show. Which was held at the Hard Rock on Hollywood Blvd. The event was hosted by Star 98.7, it was the city finals for a chance to open for Bon Jovi in England. I was excited to see them live, since they sounded amazing on the recordings. I arrived a little too late, since we were supposed to do a miniature photo shoot before the set. They were quite comedic, they were all matching. Their time had come to go on stage, they were the first band. They did amazingly. Everyone was spot on, they showed a lot of energy and enthusiasm on stage. Fast forward to the end of the show, the results. They missed second place by one point. But they didn't let that get to them, they all went around and congratulated all the bands who won.

Local Scene: Goliath, Mosaic Cafe

Local scene alert! Local valley band, Goliath, conquered the Mosaic Cafe in Tujunga, CA last night. Only being their 4th show, Goliath showed a promising future for the local band. This band is definitely right up your alley if you're into: violence, heaviness, and straight out BR00TAL-ness (and yes, that's br00tal, with 2 0's.) Their set was so intense, fights broke out and the entire room turned into a pit. Good job boys, well done!
