Interview with: Angelo of Motionless in White

I first met Angelo back in November of 2009, in the back of the Motionless in White tour van, in front of the Key Club. I originally asked front man Chris if I could interview the band as a whole, for my first official interview for my site. He gladly accepted my request which I couldn't believe! It was exciting to say the least. When I arrived to the venue, we all filed into the van to begin the interview. Much to my surprise, everyone was somewhat quiet!! Which made me giggle a bit, being they're all in a rock band, armed with heavy riffs, haunting keyboard solos, and double pedals, I assumed they'd be very loud! They worked with me through the interview, being it was my first one and I was a little nervous and stumped at times. Unfortunately, to my deepest regrets... the original interview has been lost and can not be retrieved... Motionless in White is comprised of front man Chris Cerulli, keyboardist Josh Balz, guitarist/back up vocals TJ Bell, guitarist Ryan Sitkowsi, bassist Ricky Horror, and drummer Angelo Parente.

Luckily, Angelo agreed to re-do the entire interview for me!!

1. First off, introduce yourself!
Angelo, I play drums.

2. How did Motionless in White become your band name?
We had a couple different names in mind but we really like motionless in white especially cause it had to do with one of the bands we love and look up to, Eighteen Visions.

3. How long have you guys been a band?
There's been a good amount of member changes but with the lineup we have now and being the most solid I'd say about 2 years.

4. In 2007 you released your e.p. "The Whorror," can you tell us a little bit about it?
No it's pretty bad lol.

5. In early 2010, you have a full length album coming out, how does it differ from your e.p. in 2007?
Well it's completely different from "The Whorror" but it can still relate to our more recent release "When Love Met Destruction" which we released in February of 2009. Our new album is a lot heavier and has a very new sound to it. You'll like it.

6. You guys just did a cover of Rob Zombie's "Dragula," why did you choose that song?
We wanted to do something different and something that we like and would fit us. I feel it was the perfect choice.

7. How are your fans and spectators reacting to it?
So far we've had no complaints. Everyone seems to like it.

8. I notice you have a new bassist, what happened to your last bassist?
We kicked him out.

9. Right now you guys are in the middle of a tour with Drop Dead Gorgeous and Sky Eats Airplane, how is this tour going for you guys?
Awesome! The crowds have been great, the bands are all very nice to us and fun to hang out with. One of our favorite tours so far

10. Anything funny/embarrassing/odd happen on this tour so far?
Last night there were assholes in the crowd making fun of us and the way we look and throwing us the finger for most of our set. So before the last song I had enough and called him out on stage then the rest of the band did. And of course he bitched out.

11. Any last words?

Our new debut full length will be coming out in early October. Please everyone when it comes out, check it out and buy it!
Thanks! -Angelo

Motionless in White played in Anaheim at the Chain Reaction on April 9, 2010. I was fortunate to attend and snap a few photos. Keep in mind, I came late! So all I could do was snap from the side, so I apologize to the left hand of the stage as well as the back, I promise I still love you guys!
